This book is an analysis of the english typeface “Baskerville”, a transitional serif designed by John Baskerville in the 1750th.
Characteristics are highlighted, illustrations show differences to older and younger serifed typefaces and compare several interpretations of type foundries. This book presents the historical context and plays with associations to Baskerville’s letterforms.
